FRANK TALK WITH FEMI OLANIPEKUN

The Oluwo of Iwoland, Emperor Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, Telu the First has made a case for traditional rulers to be given constitutional roles for the development of the country.

The Oluwo who made this submission while featuring on Frank Talk, a Rave FM News and Current Affairs interview programme, said traditional rulers are closest to the people, and as such have a key role to play in developing the society.

Oba Akanbi who stressed that it was important for traditional rulers to be proactive and identify with their people, said this is the only way through which they can get respect from the government.

Oba Akanbi who prefers to be referred to as Emperor of Iwoland, encouraged traditional rulers to emulate the attributes of God which include giving, self-service and be good role models to the people.

He lamented the damage corruption has done to the society, describing it as the second slavery.
