APC Reconciliation: Tinubu charged to extract commitment to peace from Buhari
National Leader of All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has been asked to extract a commitment from President Muhammadu Buhari on his willingness to allow total reconciliation in the party, sources at the weekend meeting between the trouble shooter and the Sokoto State caucus of the party have revealed. APC Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu Tinubu, who was, penultimate week, charged by President Buhari to lead the reconciliation process in the party, formally commenced his duty with the visit to Sokoto State where he met Governor Aminu Tambuwal, Senator Aliyu Wamakko, and the state executives. Following his arrival and meeting with the governor, Tinubu was taken to Wamakko’s residence where the meeting, which lasted about two hours, took place last Saturday. A source at the meeting said there was nothing to reconcile in the party but that the meeting was an opportunity for Tinubu to leverage on the experience of Tambuwal as Speaker of the House of Representatives and Wamakko’s role as the APC campaign 2015 coordinator in the North-West Zone. “We don’t have much problem in Sokoto and all he (Tinubu) came here for was to get proper direction on how to resolve the issues in the north and for that he was basically told that he must extract commitment from those who appointed him of their readiness to pursue reconciliation to the end,” an APC chieftain privy to the development told Vanguard yesterday.
