Delta APC chair decries theft of 100 result sheets in ward congresses
Delta State Chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, Prophet Jones Erue, has decried the theft of about 100 ward result sheets meant for the May 5, 2018 Ward Congresses of the APC by unknown persons, describing the act as a crime against the party. Erue, in a statement said the ward result sheets were stolen or criminally removed from official custody by unknown persons, arguing that it was an obvious violation of the electoral process. He said the chairman of the Congress Organising Committee and his team were now taking steps to inform the police authorities to apprehend whoever was behind the act. “As a party, we will insist on a proper investigation and maximum punishment for whoever dared to attempt to desecrate our party, no matter how highly placed the person may be. In the meantime, we ask our people to remain calm. Ours is not a party that thrives on impunity. We will deal with this matter to the satisfaction of our people. Do not breach public peace because of this criminal provocation. “We trust the Congress Organising Committee to act in the best interest of our great party, as we give greater strength to APC in Delta State. We must allow the committee to remain independent in its onerous duties and decision-making,” he said.
